IT industry leads in GDP growth

According to the data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, since 2016, the GDP growth rate of information transmission, software and information technology service industry (hereinafter referred to as IT industry) has always ranked first, and is far higher than that of other industries.

As the IT industry has been leading the GDP growth rate for many years, the super high industry popularity has attracted more and more employees. According to the statistics of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the number of IT practitioners in China has steadily increased year by year, and the total number of IT practitioners in China has reached 7.77 million by August 2021. During the 10 years from 2010 to 2020, the annual compound growth rate of the number of employees in China's IT industry reached 9.95%.

Under the situation of a new generation of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, all walks of life are increasingly eager for scientific and technological talents. It also brings unprecedented dividends and opportunities for the development of the times for the education and training of digital science and technology talents at all levels in various fields in China. Taking the IT education industry as an example, according to the estimation of the Ministry of Education, the domestic IT industry needs more than 3 million new talents every year, but the number of college and technical secondary school graduates is only over one million, and there is a gap between supply and demand of more than 2 million people every year. It is estimated that by 2025, the supply and demand gap of IT talents alone will reach 9.5 million.

The IT education service industry has a huge development opportunity due to the superposition of industry demand and policy support. As a large number of graduates enter the IT industry, the quality of IT talents required by enterprises is also improving accordingly. The development of mobile Internet and cloud computing not only enhances the integration of IT and various industries, but also makes the internal division of labor in IT industry more refined and specialized.

Enterprise IT job recruitment has gradually changed from "quantity" to "quality". Nowadays, more and more Internet enterprises pay special attention to whether candidates have project experience in talent recruitment. For enterprises, if they have project experience, they will save a lot of training costs, and employees can quickly adapt to job requirements. In a word, project experience is used to prove the practical ability of programmers and their mastery of skills in a certain field. The data shows that 70% of the students can't get enough project experience during their college years, which leads to a "dilemma" of "employment difficulty and recruitment difficulty" in the supply and demand market of college enrollment.
